(Russian MoD)The Russian Ministry of Defence published photos on Facebook on 16 January showing S-400 air-defence systems being deployed to a former Ukrainian S-300PM base south of Sevastapol in Crimea.

In addition to S-400s entering the base and taking up launch positions, the photos show Pantsyr-S1 short-range air-defence systems and Russian military personnel in dress uniform marching into the base as the local population looks on.

Combined with S-400s based in Feodosia, further eastwards in Crimea, this extends Russian S-400 coverage further westward.
