Bangladesh’s procurement agency, the Directorate General Defence Purchase (DGDP), has issued a tender notice in support of a programme to procure a medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF).
In its notice, which was published earlier this month, the DGDP said the procured UAV will be used for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and targeting operations and will fulfil requirements highlighted by the Bangladesh military’s ongoing Forces Goal 2030 modernisation plan.
The procurement will consist of a UAV system that has a maximum speed of 200 km/h or higher, a minimum loiter speed of 140 km/h or lower, a maximum range of 1,000 km, and a maximum ceiling of 6,000 m or higher.
