Elbit Systems and Babcock International have announced that they have teamed to bid for the UK’s Air Support to Defence Operational Training (ASDOT) programme.
The two companies announced on 5 December that they will form a Specific Company Programme, through which they will propose a trainer-based service for the UK’s future air aggressor training capability. However, the aircraft they will offer has not yet been disclosed.
This proposal builds on the two companies’ experience in providing flight training capabilities under the Royal Air Force’s (RAF’s) UK Military Flying Training System programme, they said.
ASDOT is a highly sought-after programme in the UK, which is expected to formally begin in September 2018 and provide an aggressor training capability from 2020.
