The US State Department has approved the sale of High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) to Poland under the Foreign Military Sales programme, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency announced on 28 November.
The sale, including related support and equipment, is worth USD250 million.
Poland has requested 16 Guided Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (GMLRS) M31A1 Unitary, nine GMLRS M30A1 alternative warheads, 61 Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS), 34 Low Cost Reduced Range rockets, and 1,642 guidance and control section assemblies for GLMRS.
These will be used for Poland’s Homar multiple rocket launcher programme, whose prime contractor is Polska Grupa Zbrojenjowa (PGZ).
