Ukraine wins first foreign investment in aerospace sector

14 November 2017

Ukraine has announced a USD150 million investment from US private equity fund Oriole Capital Group to fund the Kharkiv State Aircraft Manufacturing Enterprise.

Ukraine’s UkrOboronProm made the announcement on 13 November, as part of the company’s presence at the Dubai Airshow in the United Arab Emirates.

According to UkrOboronProm, the investment will be focused on the Antonov An-74 ‘Coaler’ twin-jet freighter, with the investment to be used to modernise production facilities at the Kharkiv State Aircraft Manufacturing Enterprise, as well as re-employing the plant’s workforce of 3,000 staff.

The investment will also be used to work on the company’s platform sales and modernisation capabilities, which will also cover marketing of An-74 upgrades and avionics.
