Rolls-Royce and Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to facilitate the provision of naval shipbuilding, repair, and refit services across the Gulf.
The companies announced on 6 November that they plan to use the definitive agreement to become preferred service partners to each other, and the MOU will provide fixed service rates for onsite attendance and turnkey repair projects in Rolls-Royce’s Dubai workshop.
Spares provision and technical and commercial support for large tenders, plus maintenance training of ADSB personnel on Rolls-Royce’s waterjets, will also be included, the latter says.
Rolls-Royce, ADSB, and the UAE navy already work together on new builds as well as retrofits, with the MOU to extend this relationship so the parties involved can potentially develop new advanced technologies.
