Discovery Air secures ‘Red Air’ training contract for Canada

Discovery Air has secured a 10-year deal to provide ‘Red Air’ training services to Canada under the Contracted Airborne Training Services (CATS) programme, the company announced on 31 October.

Under the contract Discovery Air Defence Services Inc. (DA Defence) will deliver CATS services to the Canadian Armed Forces from permanent operating bases located in four different Canadian provinces using a fleet of modernised Dassault-Dornier Alpha Jet and Learjet aircraft. Included in the contract is a follow-on two-year option as well as another 17-month option.

Based in Canada, Discovery Air operates a fleet of 16 Alpha Jets and seven upgraded Douglas A-4N Skyhawks.
