Brazil and Sweden agreed a joint ‘Strategic Work Plan’ on 26 October, in a move aimed at enhancing the countries’ co-operation in the aeronautics industry.
The agreement, signed by Brazilian Executive-secretary of Brazil’s Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Services (Ministério da Indústria, Comércio Exterior e Serviços: MDIC) Marcos Jorge de Lima and Sweden’s State Secretary of Enterprise and Innovation Niklas Johansson, marked the end of an MDIC delegation to Sweden focused on bilateral co-operation through Brazil’s acquisition of Saab Gripen multirole fighter aircraft.
The strategic plan, which covers activity from 2018–20, will prioritise increasing industrial co-operation between the two countries in areas including networked communications and cybersecurity, autonomous systems, sensors, and software.
