Kongsberg Maritime has been contracted by Saab to provide its ST2400 compact active variable depth sonar (VDS) system as part of the mid-life upgrade of the Royal Swedish Navy's two remaining Göteborg-class corvettes, HMS Gävle and HMS Sundsvall .
In June Saab was awarded a SEK1.249 billion (USD152 million) contract by the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) for the life-extension refit and upgrade of the two Göteborg-class corvettes, with the work to be carried out between 2017 and 2020.
