28 September 2017

IN A STATEMENT released on 26 September, an unidentified paramilitary group issued a threat to six local drug dealers, claiming they were willing to go to extreme lengths to stop drug dealing in County Omagh in Northern Ireland, the Ulster Herald reported. The group claimed in the statement that they were willing to resort to knee capping and executions if necessary. The statement was accompanied by an image of three men wearing balaclavas and military fatigues behind a table bearing a handgun, a shotgun, and ammunition. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the threat, though officials suspected dissident republican involvement.
