The chief executive of the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) procurement wing is to step down after less than two years in post, it was announced on 28 September.
Tony Douglas joined DE&S in 2015 having previously served as chief executive of Abu Dhabi Airports.
In a simultaneous announcement United Arab Emirates airline Etihad announced that Douglas had been appointed as its new chief executive and will take the helm in January 2018.
UK Secretary of State for Defence Sir Michael Fallon praised Douglas, saying he was “personally grateful to him” and was “impressed by the significant progress he has achieved” as leader of DE&S.
