Patria workers walk out as job cut talks continue

Finnish defence and aerospace group Patria has announced a series of employee walkouts from its sites as a result of consultations that could lead to the loss of up to 5% of the workforce.

State-controlled Patria stated on 21 September that a total of 380 workers had walked out from Patria Aviation sites in Halli, Prkkala, Tikkakoski, and Utti.

The aviation business provides aircraft life cycle support services and flight training.

Patria, meanwhile, announced on 20 September that had it started negotiations with employees at its Patria Helicopters AB subsidiary in Sweden that could result in the loss of 20 jobs.
