Canada’s STREIT Group reveals new armoured personnel carrier

The Gepard can seat up to six passengers along with the driver and commander. depending on configuration, weighs 7.6 tonnes, can carry a 1.5 tonne payload, and can be fitted with a remotely operated or manned weapon station. According to STREIT Group, the vehicle can be used for various roles including ambulance, convoy escort, or for patrolling.

The STREIT Group also exhibited another of its armoured personnel carriers, called the Python, which has a 180 litre fuel capacity, is fitted with two gun ports, and can integrate a traversing roof mounted turret with a 7.62 mm PKM gun mount assembly.

STREIT Group said the Python can also be used for various roles, including convoy escort and patrolling. Company officials told Jane’s the Python is a new vehicle based on upgrades to the STREIT Group’s Cougar armoured personnel carrier.
