12 September 2017

On 7 September, the government of Croatia approved funding to purchase AGM-114 Hellfire missiles for the Croatian Air Force. The missiles will arm the 16 recently acquired Bell OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopters donated to Croatia by the United States.

A down payment for the Hellfires is expected before the end of 2017, with delivery of the missiles due in 2020. The necessary 2017 funding has already been approved and the corresponding value-added tax (VAT) is now reserved in the 2020 budget.

Croatian Finance Minister Zdravko Marić said the related letter of offer and acceptance has been received in Zagreb, giving a price of HRK19.7 million (USD 3.2 million) for the missiles.
