Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) has selected the Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) from UK-based company Servowatch Systems for two new frigates that the former will deliver to the Philippine Navy (PN).
HHI signed a PHP15,744,571,584 (USD307 million) contract with the Philippine government in 2016 to supply the country with two 114.3 m frigates that derive its design from the Republic of Korea Navy's (RoKN's) Incheon (FFX-I) class.
The IPMS will provide the ships with an integrated monitoring interface to oversee the platform’s propulsion plant, electric power plant, and ancillary systems. The system also incorporates a battle damage control system and an on-board training system.
