Bahrain has bought two ex-Royal Air Force (RAF) C-130J transport aircraft, the UK Ministry of Defence has confirmed.
It told Jane's on 30 August the two aircraft are currently being refurbished at the Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group facilities at Cambridge Airport under the government-to-government deal. It said the value of the sale is commercially sensitive and cannot be released.
The RAF’s 10 C-130J C5 aircraft are being retired early, but 14 more heavily used, shorter-body C4 variants are being retained and upgraded.
