The US Navy is increasing its acquisition of the Multifunctional Information Distribution System Joint Tactical Radio Systems (MIDS JTRS), which will provide improvements over the existing airborne radios, including the ability of a Link 16 to receive multiple messages.
Data Link Solutions (DLS), a joint venture between BAE Systems and Rockwell Collins announced it has been awarded the production contract for MIDS JTRS.
