Rosoboronexport increases export order backlog

27 June 2017

The export order backlog of Russian arms exporter Rosoboronexport, a subsidiary of the Rostec State Corporation, has reached USD45 billion, with aviation accounting for USD19 billion or 42%, the company's director general, Alexander Mikheev, said at the 52nd Paris Air show in Le Bourget. He reported that the backlog of helicopter exports has reached 106 aircraft, worth USD4.7 billion.

The official added that India and China were the major arms markets for Russia before 2010 but that they have been replaced by North African and Middle Eastern countries in the last two years. These four regions account for more than 70% of Russia's arms exports, according to Mikheev.
