IDEF 2017: Aselsan, Antonov team up on aircraft electronics

10 May 2017

Ukraine's Antonov and Turkish defence and electronics compay Aselsan announced on 10 May that they had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) related to avionics and integrated electronic systems for the Antonov An-148 family of aircraft.

The agreement is primarily focused on An-158 regional passenger aircraft and An-178 short-range medium transport aircraft, and builds on an agreement signed between the Turkish and Ukrainian governments last year covering the potential construction of aircraft in Turkey.

The MOU also covers marketing the aircraft to potential international customers.

The An-148 family of aircraft are designed to operate from short and rough strips, and carry a range of cargo and passengers.
