Imagery shows North Korean nuclear test facility is 'primed and ready', says 38 North

Analysis of commercial satellite imagery suggests that North Korea's Punggye-ri nuclear test facility is "primed and ready" to carry out the country's sixth overall nuclear test, according to a report published by the 38 North website.

Taken on 12 April the images show "continued activity" around the site's north portal, new activity in the main administrative area and a few personnel around the site's command centre, said analysts at 38 North: a programme of the US-Korea Institute at Johns Hopkins University's Paul H Nitze School of Advanced International Studies.

"At the north portal, what appears to be a small vehicle or trailer is located immediately outside the entrance.
