A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed at AAD between Aselsan (Hangar 1, Stand B17) and Paramount Advanced Technologies (Pty) Ltd. (Hangar 4, Stand A414).
Both companies are active in the fields of avionics, sensors, communications systems and command and control at various levels in the systems hierarchy, weapons system integration and modernisation of airborne platforms . They will explore mutually beneficial business opportunities for their respective products, technologies and capabilities in existing markets and in opening up markets in southern Africa and internationally.
The signing of the MoU by Paramount’s CEO, Lt Gen (Ret) Carlo Gagiano, and Aselsan’s vice president, strategy and international business development, Özcan Kahramangil, was witnessed by the president of Aselsan, Dr Hasan Canpolat, and the chairman of Paramount Group, Ivor Ichikowitz.
Aselsan’s headquarters and main production facilities are located in Ankara, Turkey. The company is active in military communications, radar, electronic warfare, electro-optics, navigation and avionics, weapon, C4ISR, naval, homeland security and traffic and toll collection systems. The South African branch is situated at the CSIR Campus in Pretoria; activities include the development of advanced electro-optical systems and associated components.
