California-based LRAD Corp (Hall 5, Stand A460) has received a $1.7 million order for LRAD-RX systems and accessories from a Southeast Asia navy. The initial consignment worth $950,000 is due for shipment in September 2014, with the balance to follow as new vessels are built and commissioned.
The LRAD-RX enables highly intelligible speech transmissions over 3,000m to allow for sufficient time to assess information, in order to respond appropriately to threat situations. “Armed forces, navies and police organisations throughout the world use LRAD systems daily to establish communications with potential threats, create large safety zones and to save lives,” said LRAD president and CEO Tom Brown.
LRAD systems are sold to 70 countries around the world in applications ranging from fixed and mobile military deployments, maritime security, critical infrastructure and perimeter security to border control, law enforcement and emergency responder communications.
