Excelitas show a range of high-performance technology solutions on the Qioptiq stand at Eurosatory.

IGNITION SAFETY DEVICE

Thanks to its expertise in Low Energy Exploding Foil Initiators (LEEFI) Excelitas Technologies is the leader for immune ignition systems.

Successfully supplying fully immune Ignition Safety Devices (ISD) as well as Rocket Motor Initiators (RMI) and Through Bulkhead Initiators (TBI) This range of ISDs, RMIs, and TBIs are immune to fire, ESD, shocks, bullet impact, etc and are manufactured in volume to deliver a cost effective solution.

NEW LASER DIODE FOR EYE SAFE LASER RANGE FINDER

The laser Range Finder market for Defence applications has moved to wavelengths that are eye safe, in the 1550nm band. To support this market with ever improved performances Excelitas Technologies is working on a new generation of Pulsed laser Diode Emitters. The new generation can provide more than 90W peak optical power with drive current as low as 40A.

AVALANCHE PHOTODIODE FOR LRF AND LIDAR

Excelitas Technologies, are the pioneer and leader for Avalanche Photodiodes (APD), and is developing the APD based receivers for laser Range Finder and LIDAR applications.

The new generation of APD receivers for LRF and LIDAR includes an integrated hybrid amplifier with improved damage level. The hybrid preamplifier solution provides a lower readout noise and faster response by amplifying the APD output with no added inductance and with a perfect impedance matching.

SENSORS FOR LASER WARNING

The need for military platforms to detect and identify incoming lasers is growing evermore vital. Laser Warning Systems are increasingly installed on helicopters, aircrafts, navy ships and ground vehicles. The location accuracy of the laser threat is a critical parameter to generate an efficient countermeasure or counter-action with standard systems providing 10 to 15 degree resolution.

Excelitas Technologies, a leading optronics manufacturer, has developed the HARLID, a unique sensor solution for Laser Warning Systems with 1 degree angular resolution.

The HARLID production has been automatized for better reliability. This automation has increased production capacity with the HARLID now available for volume production.

QUADRANT PHOTODIODE FOR SEMI-ACTIVE LASER SEEKER

In the context of current and future conflicts, munitions require precision terminal guidance for higher efficiency and minimized collateral damage. Semi-Active Laser (SAL) terminal guidance is increasingly popular for new programs as well as IN upgrade kits for incumbent munitions.
