Development of the GSh-7VT anti-bunker munition for RPG-7V2 rocket-propelled grenade launchers has been completed, Russia's FKP GkNIPAS institute - the state governmental scientific proving ground for aircraft systems - announced at the Paris Air Show.
According to institute representatives, two versions of the munition are ready for serial production: one for the Russian Armed Forces and another intended for export. All the data released at Le Bourget was for the export version.
The new projectile combines a rear-mounted SFZ (snaryadoformiruyuschiy zaryad) and the forward-mounted BPE (boyevoy pronikayuschiy element) charges. The SFZ charge is a conventional full-calibre copper-lined explosively formed penetrator (EFP), whereas the BPE is a smaller diameter cylindrical follow-through blast/fragmentation munition of unusual hollow-centre form.
