Estonia-based Edge Group unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) maker Milrem, and Ukrainian unmanned systems company Frontline Robotics revealed a counter-unmanned aerial vehicle (C-UAV) shotgun system integrated onto a UGV at the Eurosatory 2026 defence exhibition held in Paris from 15-19 June.

The unnamed quad shotgun on a remote weapon station (RWS), mounted on the UGV's rear, is designed to shoot down UAVs at short range. A Milrem representative told Janes that if it can successfully be integrated onto the the THeMIS it would help increase the protective bubble on its logistics UGVs.

The THeMIS had the RWS mounted on a raised frame designed to allow cargo to be carried underneath it. A front mounted RWS was equipped with a 40 mm Mk19 automatic grenade launcher.

THeMIS UGVMax speed: 20 km/hCombat weight: 1697 kgRated payload weight: 750 kgRun time, hybrid with full internal tank: 15 hRun time, full load, silent mode: 1.5 hControl range: 10 km

A representative from Frontline Robotics said that the shotgun weapon system is from another unnamed company, but that they are ones integrating it into an RWS and mounting that. As of June 2026, the system is in testing to detect, track and engage UAVs with as much autonomy as possible.

The company did not reveal any further technical details on the system, including on its sensors, its cue and slew system, or its performance.
