Azerbaijan's ‘Azersilah' Defence Industry Holding Closed Joint Stock Company displayed two manual and autonomous one-way attack reconnaissance unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) at the International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF) 2025, held in Istanbul from 22 to 27 July.
The larger Suqovuşan USV is 2.2 m long and 50 cm wide, with a weight of 60 kg. It has a speed of 60 km/h and a range of 20 miles (over 32 km), and can deliver an explosive charge of 10–15 kg of TNT.
An ‘Azersilah' representative told Janes on 24 July that the Suqovuşan can be controlled manually and becomes autonomous at a longer range. The version on display was equipped with smoke obscurant charges but the representative said it can alternatively carry a rotary-wing mini unmanned aerial vehicle.
There are also two larger versions of the USV, with a length of 4 m and 6 m respectively.
The 2.2 m-long Suqovuşan has been tested in the Caspian Sea, and the representative expected production to be launched in December for Azerbaijan. He reported interest in the USV from Africa but declined to name specific countries.
The smaller Kalan mini USV is 1.5 m long and 40 cm wide. It has a speed of 30 km/h and a range of 20 miles, and can deliver an explosive charge of 5 kg of TNT. The Kalan can also be controlled manually and becomes autonomous at a longer range. It can be operated individually or in swarms.
