The Colombian Navy (ARC) has commissioned three Island-class patrol boats, donated by the United States.

The three boats – donated to Colombia and transferred through the US Defense Surplus Program – have been renamed ARC Batalla de Cispatá, ARC Batalla Toma de Sabanilla, and ARC Batalla Noche de San Juan.

The patrol boats previously belonged to the US Coast Guard (USCG). They were decommissioned in March and April, and served in the waters off the coast of Alaska.

The boats departed Ketchikan on May 14 and arrived at the Cartagena de Indias Naval Base on 14 June, according to the ARC.

The patrol boats will be crewed by two officers and 15 non-commissioned officers, with a length of 33.5 m, a beam of 6.4 m, a draught of 1.9 m, and a displacement of 154 tonnes. They will reach maximum speeds of up to 28.6 kt and have a range of up to 1,457 n miles.
