Ukrainian firm UFORCE has integrated its Predator remote weapon station (RWS) on a French Navy La Fayette-class frigate, Janes assesses. Meanwhile, a new version of UFORCE's Maritime Autonomous Guard Unmanned Robotic Apparatus (MAGURA) unmanned surface vehicle (USV) appeared on operations in August 2026.
Predator testIn a post on LinkedIn on 11 August 2026, UFORCE said that the Predator RWS had “been successfully tested aboard a NATO member state's frigate.” While the company did not name the navy in the post, Janes assesses that the RWS was integrated on a French Navy La Fayette-class frigate, based on imagery of the test.
In images accompanying the post, a French pennant can be seen flying from the ship's mast. A Thales Sea Tiger 2 air/surface search radar and a Crotale surface-to-air-missile (SAM) launcher are also visible aft of the mast. The combination of this equipment, the shape of the mast, plus the pennant, visually indicates a La Fayette-class. Moreover, the Crotale launcher has been removed from all but two of the class in French service, namely Surcouf (F 711) or Guépratte (F 714), meaning the frigate in question is in all likelihood one of these two. Images also show the single RWS was positioned on the starboard quarter of the flight deck. It is unclear whether a second, or further systems were also integrated. While unconfirmed by UFORCE, this is the first integration of a Predator RWS on a surface ship that Janes has seen.
UFORCE said that “during the trials, Predator detected, tracked, and engaged both an aerial drone and an unmanned surface vessel — validating its ability to protect naval platforms against the autonomous threats now reshaping the maritime domain.”
