Türkiye's Baykar Defence and Indonesia's Republikorp Group have signed an agreement to further develop and position the Bayraktar Kızılelma autonomous unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) for the Indonesian Armed Forces.
Representatives from the two companies announced an updated collaboration agreement at the SAHA 2026 International Defence and Aerospace Exhibition in Istanbul on 6 May. “Under the agreement, 12 Bayraktar Kızılelma [UCAVs] will be delivered to Indonesia starting in 2028,” Baykar said in a statement. SAHA 2026 is being held from 5 to 9 May.
According to Republikorp, the latest agreement builds on a joint venture (JV) accord signed in February 2025 to produce Bayraktar TB3 and Akinci unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Indonesia.
The latest agreement expands the partnership to develop an aerospace industry ecosystem in Indonesia, Republikorp said on 7 May. Janes understands that the framework agreement currently proposes the establishment of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facilities in Indonesia.
A Baykar spokesperson told Janes at SAHA 2026 on 7 May that the agreement with Republikorp includes a provision to increase the delivery size to 48 Kızılelma UCAVs in the future.
In the interim, series production of the Kızılelma has begun in Türkiye, the spokesperson said, adding that Baykar aims to begin deliveries to the Turkish Air Force in 2026.
