ILA 2026: Airbus reveals Ravenstorm ‘loyal wingman' UCAV

Airbus Defence and Space (DS) has debuted its U760 Ravenstorm ‘loyal wingman' unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) concept at the ILA Berlin Airshow running from 10 to 14 June 2026.

Representing thenext evolution in Airbus' roadmap towards developing a scalable family of Uncrewed Collaborative Combat Aircraft (UCCA), the full-scale mockup of the 10 m in length and 13 m wingspan Ravenstorm was displayed at the event alongside a representative assortment of weapon systems it would likely carry.

“Optimised for multi-domain missions, the [Ravenstorm's] capabilities include air-to-surface strikes using precision-guided munitions, air-to-air defence with long and medium-range anti-aircraft missiles, and electronic warfare for suppressing enemy air defences and offensive counter-air using non-kinetic jamming,” Airbus DS said, adding that the UCAV will be available in the early 2030s.

An information boardfor theRavenstorm at ILA gave the aircraft a maximum take-off weight of 6 tons, and a payload in excess of 500 kg. No further performance specifications were disclosed.

As noted by Airbus DS, the Ravenstorm is joined in the company's UCCA roadmap by the U740 Valkyrie which, in partnership with Kratos, aims to deliver an operational, sovereign UCCA to the Luftwaffe by 2029. Other Airbus DS and Airbus Helicopters unmanned aircraft showcased at ILA 2026 included the U145 rotary-winged cargo platform; the U010 Aliaca, U030 Flexrotor and U050 Capa-X light tactical unmanned aircraft; the U680 Bird of Prey unmanned interceptor; and the U950 Eurodrone. The U-designators were applied ahead of the ILA event for a consistent naming logic across Airbus' product families.
