BAE Systems and Turkish Aerospace have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) related to unmanned aircraft systems (UASs).

Announced on 6 November, the agreement will see subject matter experts (SMEs) from both companies work together to explore opportunities to collaborate on the development of UASs for the international market.

While the joint announcement provided no details of the specific nature of the work to be undertaken under the MOU, BAE Systems and Turkish Aerospace have a strong recent history of collaboration on Türkiye's Kaan National Combat Aircraft (MMU). In terms of UASs, BAE Systems developed its Taranis low-observable unmanned demonstrator in the mid-2010s that could help inform Turkish Aerospace's ANKA 3 platform that is of a highly similar form and function.
