Patria and KNDS Deutschland sign Patria 6x6 assembly and integration framework agreement

Patria and KNDS Deutschland Maintenance signed a framework agreement on 11 August 2026 on the assembly and final integration of Patria 6x6 armoured personnel carriers under the multinational Common Armoured Vehicles (CAVS) programme. Patria said in a press release later the same day that the partnership is part of the two procurement contracts signed by Patria and the Bundeswehr in December 2025.

Patria reported that it was working full speed building German industrial capacity for the CAVS programme with KNDS and other German industrial partners. The company said serial deliveries to the Bundeswehr were planned to be ramped up in early 2027, while local production in Germany is gradually increased from that year onwards as part of the technology transfer effort. According to Patria, technology transfer is a central part of its business model, with armoured vehicle manufacturing expertise transferred to local partners.

The Bundeswehr reported on its website on 16 July 2026 that the Patria 6x6 armoured vehicle was being tested at the Wehrtechnische Dienststelle (WTD) 41 technical centre for land-based vehicle systems in Trier before delivery to the troops. According to the Bundeswehr, there are 349 firm orders for the vehicle in four variants for Germany.

Patria announced on 23 February 2026 that Germany had received its first five CAVS 6x6 armoured vehicles in Zeithain, eastern Germany.

The company said at the time that the deliveries were part of the two procurement contracts signed by Patria and Germany in December 2025 under the CAVS programme for pre-series versions ready for use following standard testing.
