FNSS unveils I-ZAHA multi-purpose modular unmanned amphibious vehicle

FNSS unveiled the multi-purpose modular unmanned amphibious vehicle (U-MAV/İ-ZAHA) at the Teknofest Mavi Vatan 2026 aerospace and technology festival held at the Gölcük Naval Shipyard Command in Kocaeli, Türkiye, on 20-23 August.
The company said in a press release on 20 August that İ-ZAHA is designed to conduct an unmanned first wave of an amphibious assault, noting that it is the highest-risk phase of any such operation, and to operate as part of a manned-unmanned team (MUM-T) with marine assault vehicles (MAVs) already in service with the Turkish Naval Forces Command. FNSS envisages İ-ZAHA making first contact with an opposing force's shore defences ahead of the manned wave, keeping its operators on a naval vessel.
A 300 hp powerpack gives the platform with an eight-tonne amphibious combat weight a speed of 7 kt to reach ashore and of up to 70 km/h on land, operating in autonomous, remote-controlled, or hybrid control modes. Its modules can be changed in the field in approximately 40 minutes, according to FNSS, with 10 different mission variants: fire support, mine clearance, combat engineering, electronic warfare (EW), reconnaissance, deception, counter-unmanned aircraft system, navigation and obstacle marking, logistic support, and casualty evacuation (casevac).
FNSS said multiple variants can operate in a coordinated manner within the same operation, with a common platform and sustainment infrastructure shared across variants minimising the logistics footprint while maintaining a high state of operational readiness.
İ-ZAHA has a power-to-weight ratio of 37.5 hp/tonne and an independent suspension system, with selectable tyre options to adapt to various ground conditions. According to FNSS, low visual, thermal, and acoustic signatures enhance the platform's stealth, while offering the payload volume necessary for casevac, mission equipment, and logistic support.
