Jamie Hunter was awarded an RAF flying scholarship in 1990 following Officer and Aircrew Selection (OASC) and was initially trained to fly in Cessna 152s. Since then he has worked with many world air forces and manufacturers, significantly in the UK, Europe and North America where he has flown in aircraft types, including Eurofighter Typhoon, Tornado GR. Mk 4, F-15E Strike Eagle, F-16B/D Fighting Falcon and F/A-18F Super Hornet. He writes and photographs for a wide variety of leading aerospace publishers and has worked for Jane's Information Group as a consultant since the mid-1990s. In 2001, Jamie was appointed Editor of Jane's Aircraft Upgrades. He also maintains the aircraft upgrade analysis spreadsheet for the online service, which covers the global upgrade industry. In 2004, Jamie was appointed Editor of the new Jane’s Defence Procurement - Military Aircraft.
