Saudi Arabia has been leading a coalition of Arab states against the Yemeni group Ansar Allah and allied military units since 25 March. Using satellite imagery and other sources, this presentation will look at some aspects of the ongoing coalition air campaign, with emphasis on the effectiveness with which it established air supremacy and neutralized Yemen’s main offensive weapon systems.

SMi’s Air Mission Planning 2015 will look at the theoretical and pragmatic aspect of Mission Flight Management and Mission Support Systems. The two day event will bring together senior military representatives such as Air Commodore Paddy Teakle from HQ NAEW&C Force Command, NATO to examine all phases of a special operations aviation mission from - initial planning, briefing and the execution of the whole operation.

In 2013 the inaugural OPV Africa was launched in partnership with the Nigerian Navy. The event was without parallel as over 400 senior members of the international maritime community, including over 180 naval officers of which there were 60 flag officers and 6 services chiefs, attended the event to discuss solutions to maritime security in Africa, as well as to inspect an exhibition of almost 30 stands showcasing services and products to help facilitate this.

Returning for 2015 in Lagos, the event constitutes Africa’s foremost forum for naval operations and international and intergovernmental cooperation.
