The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has signed a framework agreement with MilDef for command and communications equipment, the FMV announced on 13 May.

The agreement applies to hardware in tactical IT, which will be integrated on command vehicles, combat vehicles, battleships, and personnel.

A MilDef spokesperson told Janes that the framework agreement is valued at about SEK870 million (USD87 million) and has a duration of seven years.

The spokesperson said the agreement covers the full range of MilDef's hardware portfolio and will be updated on a regular basis to include new products. In addition, the framework gives FMV the possibility to place orders for different types of services and new products.

MilDef develops hardened IT products and specialist electronics devices and solutions for the defence sector, including laptops, tablets, and handheld devices, as well as providing software for secure IT infrastructure such as operating systems, communications, security, deployment, and sensor systems.

The spokesperson said the agreement was not connected to any specific type of vehicles or units.
