US company Bunker Supply has developed a wireless charging module for its Mission Awareness Accessory Kit (MAAK) ecosystem. The company launched the module at the SAE Media Group Future Soldier Technology conference held in London in March 2026.
David Martschinske, Bunker Supply vice president for growth and innovation, said that the MAAK ecosystem is based on its Forge case for end user devices (EUDs). “Everything, connects, mounts and scales from it” he said, adding that there are cases for most brands of phone and tablet in military use. The case includes dual-position mounting, allowing modules to be added while the EUD is installed in a mount. Mounts include chest, vehicle, belt, and knee options.
The Scout battery module is an IP67-rated lithium-ion battery with a 75 W output across two USB-C ports and a Qi2 wireless charger. When clipped to the EUD case in a mount (typically a chest mount), it provides power to the device while leaving the USB port open for connection to a radio or central hub. Martschinske added that using the Scout removes the requirement for a separate battery to maintain power to both the EUD and a tactical radio, which reduces weight and cabling.
For cold-weather operations, Bunker Supply has developed a low-temperature kit including a heating pad that fits in the base of the Forge case and connects to the Scout module via a USB cable. The pad has a maximum heat capacity of 55 °C.
