Havelsan's Advent Marti aviation command-and-control (C2) system was “successfully integrated into Türkiye's Coast Guard Command's CN-235 aircraft, including the TCSG-553”, the Turkish company told Janes on 29 January.

The development, first announced on 6 January, makes the coastguard's TCSG-553 maritime surveillance aircraft the first platform for integration with Advent Marti.

Advent Marti, part of Havelsan's Advent combat management system (CMS) family, developed under the leadership of Turkish Naval Forces Command, is specifically designed for special mission aircraft and helicopters.

Havelsan said the aim of the integration is to increase the operational efficiency of airborne platforms from maritime patrol and surveillance aircraft to helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The company added that Marti is configurable for different equipment, weapons, and sensors, allowing deployment on missions from intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) to airborne early warning, anti-surface warfare (ASuW), anti-submarine warfare (ASW), and electronic warfare (EW).

A Havelsan spokesperson told Janes that Advent Marti “supports VHF [very-high-frequency], HF [high-frequency], and satellite communication channels with the VHF marine band covering frequencies between 156 [and] 174 MHz, and HF marine band ranging from 2 [to] 30 MHz. The system utilises the Link 16 tactical datalink, employing frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) technology”.

Commenting on latency affecting real-time situational awareness, Havelsan said “the system is designed to provide real-time situational awareness. However, specific latency values depend on operational conditions and the communication infrastructure in use”.
