Shield AI has acquired the Data Driven Readiness (DDR) software analytics tool from Crowdbotics, the company announced on 15 April. The tool “collects, processes, and visualises flight data to assess pilot proficiency for post-mission debriefs” and will be integrated into the Hivemind autonomy stack, the statement said. The acquisition has been completed, Mike Benitez, head of growth and strategy for Shield AI's Hivemind domestic business unit, told Janes on 21 April. He declined to provide the value of the acquisition.
Crowdbotics developed DDR to help fighter pilots analyse their performance during post-mission debriefings. Shield AI was looking at building a post-mission analytics tool for its artificial intelligence (AI) agents when the opportunity to acquire DDR arose, Benitez said. The acquisition included a few of the people who worked on the product, he added.
Expanding Hivemind
DDR is being integrated into the solutions side of Shield AI's Hivemind product, which is focused on integrating and deploying autonomy capabilities and is separate from the Hivemind Enterprise software development kit (SDK) used to build autonomy, he said.
