The not-to-exceed Lot 1 production award, announced on 13 July, is for USD1.2 billion, and covers design, development, integration, manufacturing, test, verification, certification, delivery, sustainment, and modification of an initial eight F-15EX aircraft, as well as spares, support equipment, training materials, technical data, and technical support. This award is part of a wider 10-year ordering and 15-year performance-period Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) USD22.89 billion development and procurement contract for up to 200 aircraft.

“The F-15EX is the most affordable and immediate way to refresh the capacity and update the capabilities provided by our aging F-15C/D fleets,” said General Mike Holmes, commander of the USAF’s Air Combat Command (ACC). “The F-15EX is ready to fight as soon as it comes off the line.”
