Systematic updates Frontline mounted C2 software suite

by Giles Ebbutt

Systematic has developed a new version of its Frontline command and control (C2) software, the company announced on 4 February. Frontline is the mounted element of Systematic’s SitaWare C2 software suite, which also includes SitaWare Headquarters (HQ) for static command posts and Edge for the dismounted user.

The emphasis in the new version, SitaWare Frontline 3.0, has been to achieve greater commonality between the three suite members to provide a “common and enhanced user experience” with full symbol alignment across the suite, the company said. It has a simplified menu system and a soft “action wheel” for quick access, together with a responsive display optimised for different screen sizes and orientation, and now has light and dark modes for different light levels.

Frontline 3.0 has a new self-contained map engine, as already supplied for SitaWare HQ and Edge, that now supports multiple map types in 2D and 3D format, together with improved terrain analysis tools that includes the ability to display area-of-sight and line-of-sight. Other functions will be added in v3.1, which is scheduled for release in July 2021, according to a company representative.
