Saab AB has unveiled a training system that can simulate various naval operations, including littoral warfare and amphibious assault missions.

The system, Maritime Live Training (MLT), was unveiled at the IMDEX 2023 exhibition in Singapore, held from 3 to 5 May at the Changi Exhibition Centre.

The MLT is similar to the Force on Force Training Systems–Next (FoFTS-Next), the contract for which was secured with the US Marine Corps in 2021.

Within the MLT are subsystems such as naval gunnery and coastal defence simulators, which are based on Saab's existing gunnery and manoeuvre exercise (GAMER) system that can generate real-time maritime scenarios. The simulator can incorporate up to 10,000 entities in a training scenario.

Besides scenario simulations, the MLT is also able to accommodate evaluation modules that can provide trainees with rapid feedbacks and after-action reviews. In addition to combat, there is an option to expand the simulator suite with chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) and medical training systems that can be tailored according to requirements.
