Completed at Albwardy Damen shipyard in Dubai, Shujaa (P5004) is one of a new class of patrol boats entering service with CICPA based on Damen’s Stan Patrol 5009 design.

According to information presented at NAVDEX 2021, Shujaa has an overall length of 50.1 m, a beam of 9.4 m, and a draft of 3.5 m.

Two 10 m or 11 m interceptor rigid-hull inflatable boats (RHIBs) are carried on the aft deck, while a smaller RHIB is launched via a stern ramp. The vessel’s armament is listed as a 30 mm gun mount and two 12.7 mm STAMP remotely operated machine guns, although none of the gun systems were installed on Shujaa at the time of its commissioning. Sensors include two navigation radars, including an S-band Alphatron JRC S-set.

The CICPA vessels include some bespoke modifications, including four stern exhausts instead of the more common side exhausts seen on this type, and what appear to be two booms on the foredeck (recessed into the bulwarks) that are possibly for pollution control.
