Indian Navy transfers Dornier aircraft to Mauritius as stopgap measure

The Indian Navy has transferred a Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Dornier 228 turboprop aircraft to the Mauritius Police Force, the Indian Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced on 14 September.

The passenger variant aircraft will be operated by the National Coast Guard branch of the Mauritius Police Force as a loan unit while it awaits the delivery of another new Dornier 228 signed under a contract inked with HAL. It will be the service's fourth aircraft of the type in its fleet.
