British Army chooses SitaWare HQ for its 3rd Division Headquarters

by Giles Ebbutt

The British Army’s 3rd Division (3 (UK) Div) has selected Systematic’s SitaWare Headquarters (HQ) command and control (C2) software, the company announced on 11 November.

SitaWare consists of three interoperable segments of C2 software designed for different command levels. The HQ segment is designed for use in ground force command posts at battalion level and above, and for maritime and air operations. It provides situational awareness, a common operational picture and C2 functionality.

The software is currently being used by HQ 3 (UK) Div on Exercise ‘Cerberus’ on the Salisbury Plain Training Area. This command post exercise (CPX) is “designed to validate the key brigade headquarters of the warfighting division”, Systematic said in a statement. SitaWare HQ is expected to be used by the divisional HQ on the US Army’s Joint Warfare Assessment 2021 (JWA 21) Command Post Exercise (CPX) at Fort Carson in June 2021, which will also include French representation and, Janes understands, Australian and Canadian involvement as well.
