Amentum to buy services firm DynCorp

Amentum has agreed to acquire fellow US government services firm DynCorp International, creating a company that will be one of the largest in its sector, Amentum announced late on 24 September.

The combined entity will have more than USD6 billion in annual revenue and in excess of 34,000 employees in more than 30 countries.

Amentum, whose work ranges from maintaining military equipment overseas to managing classified facilities, said the acquisition will expand its role in such lucrative defence service areas as aviation, intelligence, logistics, and training.

“Our complementary capabilities and cultures will propel Amentum to the top of our market as a leader with differentiated solutions to support our clients’ most challenging missions,” Amentum CEO John Vollmer said.

The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2020. Financial terms were not disclosed.
