US Army preparing to test future ERCA iteration

The US Army is planning to begin a two-year test series with its Extended Range Cannon Artillery (ERCA) II system at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California beginning in October 2023, according to a Federal Register notice.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration posted the document on 6 January outlining ERCA II test plans and its potential effect on marine mammals. Between October 2023 and October 2025, the army wants to fire 77 projectiles from the platform over the course of 51 test event days.

Update: Bulgaria receives special forces vehicles

The Bulgarian Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced on its website on 21 December 2021 that it had received the first batch of 45 armoured vehicles from Samel-90 for its Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) that day. The MoD said 98 vehicles would be built in 10 different versions, with deliveries to be completed by the end of 2022.
