FCAS/SCAF partner nations agree NGWS development

Partner nations France, Germany, and Spain have agreed development of the Next-Generation Weapon System (NGWS) element of the Future Combat Air System (FCAS)/Système de Combat Aérien Futur (SCAF) programme.

On 31 August the three governments signed the Implementation Agreement 3 element of the wider Phase 1B phase, covering development of the New Generation Fighter (NGF), Remote Carrier (RC) loyal wingman, and Air Combat Cloud (AAC) networked battlespace that comprise the NGWS. The new agreement covers work from 2021 to 2027.
