Globe Investimentos completes acquisition of Avibras Aeroco

Globe Investimentos has completed the acquisition of Avibras Aeroco, the Brazilian missile and rocket company.

Globe Investimentos, the personal investment holding company of Brazilian businessmen Joesley Batista and Wesley Batista, completed the acquisition of the entire share capital of Avibras Aeroco on 14 October, Avibras told Janes on 15 October.

The acquisition comprises the strategic assets, industrial facilities, and technology portfolio of the company previously known as Avibras Indústria Aeroespacial.

Globe Investimentos is now the sole shareholder of Nova AVB, which holds all the shares in Avibras Aeroco, maintaining 100% Brazilian control of the company.

The completion of the transaction will enable Avibras Aeroco to resume full-rate production, honour its commitments, and return to growth in the domestic market and abroad, the company said.

The value of the acquisition was not disclosed. Sami Youssef Hassuani, CEO of Avibras, previously told Janes that the deal was worth around BRL300 million (USD59.3 million).

Avibras has appointed Bruno Dantas, a former president of the Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts (TCU), to the newly created position of executive chairman of the board of directors.

Dantas's mission is to support the rebuilding of the company's industrial capacity and lead its international expansion, opening new markets for defence products and technology developed in Brazil, the company said. The goal is for exports to become the main driver of growth, according to Avibras.

Avibras has made its first delivery of unguided rockets for the Brazilian Army's ASTROS II self-propelled rocket artillery system since resuming activities in April 2026, the company told Janes .
