Saab's surveillance business unit booked a SEK10.1 billion order for two GlobalEye airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft from an undisclosed Middle Eastern customer, announced on 27 July. Separately, Canada and Saab signed a non-binding term sheet on 25 September for six GlobalEye aircraft and associated support. This is not a purchase contract or procurement commitment.

Saab's Naval business unit, which absorbed naval combat systems from its surveillance business unit on 1 April, secured a SEK8.7 billion order for combat systems for four German MEKO A-200 DEU frigates, announced on 16 July. This followed its 29 June contract for three A26 submarines for Poland, signed before Q3.

The company's dynamics business unit saw sales rise 10%, but EBIT fell 18% to SEK537 million as higher R&D spending and product mix reduced its margin from 19.3% to 14.3%. On 28 August, Saab announced an initial SEK1.2 billion Finnish order for RBS 70 NG short-range air-defence systems.
